Our Instructors & Staff Members

Our Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the martial arts and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors.

Through extensive testing, certification, professional and tournament level competition, our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students.

Lyndal Ricketts Shihan  (Founder)
Shihan Lyndal began her martial arts journey in 1993, training in Geido Kai Karate Do under head instructor Silvio Morelli. Due to a history of martial arts training in her family, her parents wanted her to take classes because they were aware of the benefits that Karate can bring to a person such as discipline, confidence, street awareness and self defence. Lyndal was a dedicated student training in every class possible. Her instructor Sensei Vincent Busuttil acknowledged her passion and dedication and by the age of 12 she was training in adult classes and progressed rapidly. She earned her black belt in 2000.
Throughout her martial arts training Sensei Lyndal has competed in many tournaments including, National All Styles State and National Championships and World Championships achieving numerous first placing and titles over the years and was awarded the title of Champion of Champions in the World Championships 2006.
To broaden her experiences she has also competed in Semi contact Kick- Boxing tournaments.
Her training has given her the opportunity to train with great martial artists such as Hanshi Tino Cerbrano, Shihan Richard Norton, Benny the Jet, Coach John Donahue and many other experienced martial artists.
Through Geido Kai Karate, Lyndal was given the opportunity to teach both children and adults and it was through this opportunity that she found a strong passion of giving back what she had been taught in the martial arts. At the age of 16 with the help of a peer student, she started a satellite dojo through Geido Kai Karate, which has now evolved into an opportunity of teaching her own school, Kaizen Kai Karate-Do, where she always taught students the values and philosophies of Karate.
Through ongoing training, Sensei Lyndal continues to learn, grow and improve as a martial artist, with the intention of passing on this constant new knowledge to her students.

Brett Cahill Sensei (Head Intructor)

Sensei Brett began his Martial Arts journey as a 6 year old, beginning his training under Shihan Lyndal as a part of Kaizen Kai Karate-Do. Brett quickly fell in-love with Karate and Martial Arts as a whole and was soon training at every possible opportunity. Sensei Brett was awarded his Black Belt (Shodan) in 2014 and his Nidan (2nd Dan) in 2019. Sensei Brett has a strong belief in always training with humility, always training to improve and to never be satisfied with your knowledge. A true Martial Artist is not defined by their ranking, but by their willingness to learn, grow and share knowledge to those around them.

As Sensei Brett's training progressed, he developed a passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge. Gaining experience across all age groups, Brett began as a teenager, teaching age groups from 5 years old, all the way to adult classes.

As a lifelong student of Shihan Lyndal, Sensei Brett has adopted many philosophies from his instructor. In particular, the desire to always keep high standards, to create a safe and happy environment for people from all walks of life to train and to always remain true to the core values of Martial Arts.
